Privacy Policy

1. Account and Library Information

You may browse the App without creating an account. If you create an account, we collect your email address, an optional display name, account identifier, authentication information managed by our authentication provider, saved mixes, saved playlists, saved SoundGuides, listening history, notification choices, and playback settings. If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple may provide a private relay email address instead of your personal email address.

The App does not request your phone number, postal address, precise location, contacts, photos, payment information, or advertising identifier.

2. Information You Choose to Provide on the Website

If you use the Website's contact form or subscribe to email updates, you may provide information such as your name, email address, message, and subscription preferences. Newsletter information is processed through HubSpot. We use this information to respond to you or send the communications you requested. You can unsubscribe through the link in an email.

3. App and Website Activity

The App and Website connect to external services to deliver content. Those services may automatically receive technical information normally included with an internet request, such as an IP address, browser or device type, operating system, request time, referring page, and the content requested. Embedded media providers may also receive playback interactions and use cookies or similar technologies according to their own policies.

We do not currently use a first-party advertising or behavioral analytics SDK in the App, and we do not sell personal information.

4. Services Used

DJ Hypnotic uses service providers to operate the App and Website, including:

• Supabase for account authentication and private storage of saved content, listening history, preferences, and push-device records;
• Sanity for content management and delivery;
• Cloudinary for image and audio delivery;
• Mixcloud for embedded mix playback and artwork;
• YouTube for embedded video playback;
• Apple Music and Apple's iTunes Search API for song previews, links, authorization, and user-requested playlist creation;
• Expo and Apple for application building, distribution, authentication, push notifications, and platform services;
• HubSpot for Website newsletter subscriptions; and
• our Website hosting and infrastructure providers.

These providers process information under their own privacy policies. Embedded Mixcloud and YouTube content should be treated as activity with those services.

5. Apple Music

If you choose an Apple Music feature, the App asks Apple for permission and sends the selected Apple Music track identifiers to Apple to create a playlist in your library. Apple handles your authorization and Apple Music account. DJ Hypnotic does not receive your Apple password and does not store your Apple Music credentials.

6. Notifications

If you opt in to push notifications, the App stores an app-specific Expo push token, device platform, and your alert preferences so it can deliver the notifications you request. You can turn alerts off in the App or in your device settings. We do not use push tokens for advertising profiles.

7. How Information Is Used

Information described in this policy may be used to provide requested content and media, operate and secure the App and Website, respond to messages, deliver opted-in email communications, troubleshoot failures, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell or rent personal information.

8. Retention and Security

Account and library information is retained while your account remains active. You can delete your account in the App under Profile > Settings > Delete Account; this permanently deletes the account and its associated saved items, history, preferences, and push-device records. Contact and newsletter information is retained for as long as reasonably needed to provide the requested communication, maintain required records, or comply with law. You may unsubscribe from marketing email at any time. Technical information handled by external providers is retained under their respective policies. We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

9. Your Choices and Requests

You can use the App without an account, remove saved items, manage listening and notification preferences, sign out, or permanently delete your account from the App. You may also avoid embedded third-party media, open external services directly under their own settings, block cookies where supported, or unsubscribe from email communications. Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information we maintain. To make a request, contact us using the address below.

10. Children's Privacy

The App and Website are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the App, Website, or service providers change. The revised policy will be posted here with an updated date. App Store privacy disclosures will also be updated when required.
